The Medical Director of CHOC, Dr. Colanta lives and practices medicine in Bayonne.
She previously had a solo practice in Bayonne for over 30 years before
becoming the Medical Director of this facility in 2005. Dr. Colanta has
served in leadership positions for the Department of Medicine and also
held Chairmanships of Oncology and Hematology Communities at Bayonne
Hospital. She has also held faculty positions in UMDNJ.
Dr.
Colanta is deeply committed to improving the delivery of quality care
to the community, where patient access and comfort in light of these
devastating diseases is important. The opening if an outpatient
infusion center in Bayonne has been a lifelong endeavor.
Mark H. Chaitowitz, M.D.
Dr.
Chaitowitz is board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology , and
Oncology. Prior to joining our practice, Dr. Chaitowitz was the
director of medical oncology at Mercy Hospital of Philadelphia, where
he was instrumental in the creation of a new department, and the
introduction of innovative practices focused on quality in patient care.
He
is experienced in the management of solid tumors and malignant
hematology, and has special interest in myeloma, benign blood
disorders, and cancer symptom management. His research in pain
management has been published in peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Chaitowitz
is excited to bring his experience and expertise to the care of
patients in Hudson County. He is fluent in Hebrew and Yiddish.
